Study Association Complex was founded on the 13th of September 1993. Before the founding, there was a wide range of different associations; for example a Graduation Associations, an Introduction Committee, and a Student Representative in the department of Psychology. A group of five students thought that something was missing; an umbrella association for all Psychology students at Tilburg University (which at the time was called KUB, Katholic University Brabant). Together they established a new association: Study Association Complex. The name ‘Complex’ reflects the busy field of various organizations and associations in which the association is found.
When the association was officially founded, an opening party was organized at Café de Boekanier, this was the beginning of our partnership which still exists until this day.
In the fall of 1993, elections were organized for the new board which was installed in January 1994. Around that time the first committees were formed (for example an extract committee and the activity committee).
It is interesting to see how Complex has grown over the years. At the beginning, Complex only had two committees. Almost three decades later, Complex has 25 committees which all vary from each other. Complex keeps growing every year and has almost 1600 members.
Complex’ main goal is to improve the wellbeing of all future, current and previous students of the study Psychology at Tilburg University.
